The tragic looting of the Iraq Museum was an unthinkable heartbreak, but also an inspiration for the creation of SAFE. Sadly, the tragedy continues with the destruction of archaeological sites, to this very day.

Since 2003, SAFE has been working on a variety of programs and events to raise awareness about the dire need to protect our shared cultural heritage.

Watch a preview of "Robbing the Cradle of Civilization: The Looting of Iraq's Ancient Treasures," a film by Robin Benger (CBC, 2003). The 43-minute DVD is available to SAFE members only for USD $45.00 (includes shipping and handling within the U.S. Shipping outside the U.S., add USD $10.00). Not yet a member? Join now.
