SAFE offers a variety of activities designed to reach the general public and offer an opportunity to meet experts in the field. We host our own events, we also work with other organizations such as Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA), Out Professionals, LCCHP (The Lawyers’ Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation). Most events are free to the public. In this section, we also list other events not affiliated with SAFE. ![]() Panel discussions and lecturesPresentations by journalists, lawyers, archeologists and museum professionals, a large portion of these events is devoted to questions and answers from the audience. ![]() Book eventsSAFE works with publishers and authors to organize book signings and readings for publications aimed for the general reader. ![]() ConferencesTo reach out to scholars, students and members of the public, SAFE exhibits in professional conferences. ![]() FundraisersEvents serving the dual purpose of informing the public and raising funds for projects are held throughout the year, in a variety of venues. ![]() PartiesOur popular parties help create a congenial SAFE community atmosphere. Candlelight VigilSAFE hosts Global Candlelight Vigil to commemorate the looting of the Iraq Museum in an effort to shed light on the vulnerability of our shared cultural heritage. |
