Internship

Through an internship program, SAFE gives students the opportunity to contribute to safeguarding cultural heritage. It allows them to work with top professionals and academics as colleagues in a variety of specialties. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming an intern. Read more about our internship program here.

If you need help in this process, please contact Kelly McGannon and indicate how you would like to tie in your school work with SAFE and give us the contact information for your school official.

We believe that rallying the creativity of students is the best way to involve other students in SAFE's projects. After all, students—the world's future leaders—are the ultimate beneficiaries of a well preserved global cultural heritage.

Here are some of the projects our interns have worked on:

  • Writing/editing/research, Say YES to Italy campaign
  • Legal research, international cultural property laws
  • Legal research, U.S. state cultural property laws
  • Graphic design, web banners
  • Web maintenance
  • Research, educational and teacher resources
  • Creating awareness in high school presentations

“What's so great about a SAFE internship is that it's structured around your interests and talents. There are no rigid guidelines, no boundaries, only your passion and dedication and how far you're willing to take your love of protecting our common past. And then of course there are all those people desperate to share their knowledge, to guide you along the way. And despite only being able to chat with them via email or on the phone, you get the sense that these are really special people, special people who have something in common with you."
