“The CPAC should listen carefully. Import of antiquities into the United States encourages looting in Italy and other countries, which destroys archaeological sites. These sites, particularly in Italy, could be considered a world heritage, not that of a few private collectors. I write personally, but also serve as Vice President of the World Archaeological Congress (WAC), the world’s largest body of practicing archaeologists. WAC encourages protection of archaeological sites around the globe.”
